Kelowna Fishing Report — Week of April 28, 2026
Updated April 28, 2026 · Captain Dennis Barnes · Outdoor Adventures BC
Here's what's happening on Okanagan, Shuswap and Arrow Lakes right now, straight from the downrigger. We update this page every week during the season.
Okanagan Lake — this week
Kokanee: Starting to show. Fish are suspended 30–60 ft down over 80–120 ft of water. Best trolling speed 1.2–1.6 mph. Pink and UV hoochies behind small dodgers doing most of the damage.
Hot spots this week: Knox Mountain wall, Mission Creek mouth, and the deep stretch off Bear Creek. First-light bite is by far the best — be on the water for 6 a.m. if you can.
Shuswap — this week
Water is still cold. Early season — winter burbot jigging is wrapping up, chinook trolling hasn't kicked in. Best arm right now: Salmon Arm.
Conditions snapshot
- Surface temp Okanagan Lake central basin: ~9 °C
- Wind forecast next 3 days: light NW, calm mornings
- Best window this week: Wed–Fri AM
What we're rigging
- 12-lb mono leaders on kokanee setups
