Kinbasket Lake Trophy Rainbow Trout Adventures
A vast Columbia River reservoir north of Revelstoke — surrounded by the Selkirk and Rocky mountain ranges. Trophy rainbow trout in remote, low-pressure water. Our most dramatic destination, run as custom multi-day adventures only.
The most remote water we run
Kinbasket Lake is a 425 km² reservoir formed by the Mica Dam on the Columbia River — a long, fjord-shaped expanse of glacier-fed water hemmed in by the Selkirk Mountains to the west and the Canadian Rockies to the east. There is almost no shoreline development. Most days you'll see more wildlife than people. Cell service is limited; planning matters.
Who Kinbasket is for
Adventure-minded groups who want something genuinely off the map. Photography teams chasing big mountain light. Anglers who want quiet water without crowds. Anyone willing to trade convenience for scenery on a scale you can't get on Okanagan Lake.
What to expect
- Multi-day only — typical 2–3 day trips, custom itineraries
- Drive distance — about 4 hours from Kelowna; usually overnight in Revelstoke or Mica Creek the night before
- Weather window — late June through September, conditions permitting
- By request — Kinbasket trips book 4+ weeks ahead and are quoted individually based on duration and logistics
